Deep Listening | Care Sessions
 You choose the frequency and length. Your sessions may be up to:

Your CareDoula® will provide deep listening and loving support through weekly phone calls.

What You Receive:
  • Grounding. Our CareDoula Companions will be a grounding support, something you can count on every week as you deal with your changing environment. 
  • Peace of mind. Knowing you are not alone trying to manage so much.  You know you have at least one person to speak with anonymously.
  • A witness. Research has shown that most people wish loved ones would just let them talk, let them be and not try to "fix" them. You know our CareDoula Companion understands the dignity in not trying to rescue you from your feelings.
  • Understanding. Although no one ever totally understands completely how you feel, our CareDoula Companions are studying how to accompany others well during loss.
  • Objectivity. Our CareDoula Companions are not invested in the dynamics of your situation so they are able to be a calming presence, offering a different perspective at times if asked.
  • A Partner. Our CareDoula Companions are here for you however you want and need them to the best of our ability.
CareDoula® Companion Details
  • This program is appropriate for people who are dealing with end of life through bereavement.
  • This program is appropriate for anyone in the circle of someone who is dying, from the dying person, their family, to a person deeply affected by this who is not related by blood or marriage.
  • The sessions last for 3-month rounds. You may renew if we have available CareDoula Interns.
  • Acceptance into our CareDoula Grief Companion program is based on availability of a CareDoula Intern. You may be placed on a waiting list if we do not have someone available now.
  • This is not an emergency service. This is not a medical service. This is not an advice service. This does not take the place of your healthcare team or clergy, therapists, or anyone licensed to and skilled to provide expert assistance to you. We are a service of deep listening and loving attention.
  • The private session with your CareDoula Intern is to provide loving attention and deep listening and not ever to give medical advice. Instead, it is to provide emotional support and help you find resources (if needed) and to be there as you plan your next steps.
  • The CareDoula Intern is there to supportively listen--they are loving end-of-life doulas in training, studying to become Certified End-of-Life Doulas through our End-of-Life Doula Certificate Program.
  • Space is limited. Priority will be given to people with highest need.
  • Each phone call is one hour or less, planned at one week intervals or less (your choice) with your Intern, based on your mutual availability. 
  • Registration/Renewal Fee: $100. Your non-refundable f​ee helps us maintain and continually improve this family program. Thank you for your contribution! ♥
