We value your time and energy and have created this page of the most common student questions to help quickly answer anything that might come up while you're starting your program. Please take a look through the helpful information below before reaching out to the QLC Team.

1. Online Portal Access

If you're having any trouble accessing the Online Portal, PLEASE read below:
  • We suggest using only "Google Chrome" as your internet browser, if possible. Other internet browsers have been known to have intermittent functioning errors. Please first try installing Chrome if you are experiencing any difficulty in the Portal. 
  • If you need help resetting your password, you can use the "Forgot Password" link on the Online Portal log in page OR we can help you with that! Email [email protected] to have us reset it for you.
  • If you're viewing the Online Portal from your phone or mobile device, you will need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen to view the material after you've clicked on your desired section/lesson. Please watch the video below to see an example:

2. Receiving Emails

Please read the instructions HERE on how to make sure our emails don't get sent to your spam filter. If you ever feel like you're missing a response from us, please first check your spam folder to make sure we haven't been routed there. :) ​

3. Course Completion

There are 5 items required for course completion:
  • Assessment 1
  • Assessment 2
  • Assessment 3
  • Assessment 4
  • Final Essay
  • 32-Hour Practicum (Practicum waived due to pandemic at this time)
Your Assessments will be completed in the Testing Center. The Testing Center is a separate space than the Online Portal. You can find the link to create your Testing Center account in the Online Portal under the "Certification & Assessments" tab. Once you create your account, it can take 24-48 hours for your account to be approved before you can access the assessments. 

You will also find the instructions for your Final Essay in the "Certification & Assessments" section of the Online Portal (please make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to read the instructions). Your Final Essay should be completed in Word Doc format and submitted via the "Click Here to Submit Your Essay" button in the Online Portal under the "Certification & Assessments" tab. A member of the School Faculty will then review your essay and send you their feedback within 14 business days. Once all your requirements have been completed and you have submitted your course evaluation, you'll be ready to receive your Certificate! Receiving your Certificate in the mail can take up to 60 days from the point of your course completion.

Please note that the Practicum is not currently required for certification due to the pandemic. If you still wish to take part, you are welcomed to do so, but you must take full responsibility for your actions and abide by CDC guidelines during your service. You can read the Practicum Orientation HERE for an overview of the process. Should you choose to move forward with the Practicum, please let us know at [email protected]. Understand it is not a requirement for program completion & certification and you are taking full responsibility for your own safety.

4. Course Resources

Please use the "Course Resources" in the Online Portal to reference as you work through the material. You will find this in the Online Portal under the tab "Course Resources." 

The resources in the material will be numbered and then you'll find that same number in the "Course Resources" document. If you ever click a link and it DOES NOT work, please email [email protected] directly so that we can test the link or find a replacement. Websites change their pages frequently, so it's very common that a link we have referenced has gone dead before we're able to update it. We check these resources every quarter--but aren't always able to catch them.

5. Response Time

Response time for email inquiries is within 1-3 business days. Please understand that we are not always available for immediate responses to emails, especially on weekends. We have a FANTASTIC team here at QLC, but it is not large enough to provide 24/7 support. Our students are TOP priority and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible!

6. Fast-Track

You have a full year to complete your studies with us with the current requirements. If you need more time, that is completely fine, simply understand that you must complete the requirements of the year in which you finish.

For those of you who wish to have a guided experience, week by week, or would like to complete the course in 16 weeks, we offer a complimentary 16-week guided email series called the "Fast-Track." The Fast-Track is meant to guide you to complete in 16 weeks, if you choose, but it is definitely not required! Even if you sign up for this process and end up not being able to complete within that time frame--that is completely fine! You can simply use the Fast-Track as an outline and refer back to the emails for reference as you study.
