A Blessed end-of-life doula

I love this: "Who is your client? – Your client is a unique reflection of you who is sent to help you under the guise of receiving help. You receive their highest help by providing them with your greatest gift." - Marc David. 

No matter what field you are working in, if you are working closely with someone who really needs you, do you feel this way? I know I do. 

This statement is very meaningful to me because it's so humbling and so true.

I'm left a better person by each person with whom I come into contact as an End-of-Life Doula. They always show me something, validate something, reveal a wound, celebrate, honor, bless, and keep me in awe. You cannot work this closely with someone and not be affected and changed. 

If you are doing this work with the dying, then you know the truth of Marc's statement.

To those of you who wonder how we are able to do this work, thinking that it must be very hard, know that we are getting blessed beyond belief. I don't do this just because of that, but it happens. It is amazing.
