Late Hospice Entry

There is a very familiar complaint so many of us have in hospice circles, and that is of late entry into hospice service. It is not an easy fix for sure. I rarely here this reason (that is shared in the video). Both my parents had it.

​And then there is the issue of the family resisting, of medical staff not understanding and following 

through, of inappropriately trained hospice marketers and community educators. There are so many things that prevent people from getting this valuable service sooner.

In the video, it is good for the end of life doula to really grasp this side of the issue too. We can serve people who are dying, who will never state they are, yet they are in their last days. They are not in "denial." They think of it all differently. They still need us too.​
