Suffering with serious illness can be handled with palliative care. Death Doulas and
Healthcare Advocates need to know this as well as families. But the one I know is not dying you say, why would palliative care help us? You can heal from your illness and NOT have to suffer as you are doing so. That is the message here.

Unconventional ways to use the medicine most think only hospice uses. You can heal from your illness and NOT have to suffer as you are doing so. That is the message here. Unconventional ways to use the medicine most think only hospice uses.

Play close attention!! You will not want to miss a single thing in this video as it breaks down in manageable pieces how to access what you need to reduce the suffering you may be having as you heal from an illness or as you die.

You must work with people who know what the end looks like sometimes to be saved from bad decisions--not because they will say "you are dying so we are not going to do x, y or z," but because they are experts at symptom management and KNOW well, what will tax a fragile body and what to do to optimize quality of life that will enhance your chances to live the best life possible NOW.
There is so much about this that our healthcare "system" has not incorporated yet. So do not depend on them to bring this to you.

We are still in a grassroots phase with palliative care use outside of the major areas where it is well established. In most areas of our country (US) it is not well established.

So what I share is how to reduce suffering when you have no idea about all this. Do what I recommend in this video if you are suffering or know someone who is. Blessings to you on your journey.

love, Deanna
